Terms of service.

1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using any services provided by tai42 ("tai42," "we," "us"), including the tai42 open-source runtime, BabelDag, and any associated APIs, documentation, or websites (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Services.
2. The open-source runtime
The tai42 runtime — the framework, plugin ecosystem, Studio UI, and CLI — is open source and licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. Your use of those components is governed by that license, including its warranty disclaimers and limitation of liability. You may self-host, modify, and distribute them under its terms.
3. BabelDag
BabelDag is a proprietary product, licensed separately — not under the open-source license that covers the runtime. Access to it, and the terms of that access, are agreed with tai42 directly. You may not copy, redistribute, or reverse-engineer it except as that separate license permits.
4. Intellectual property
You retain all ownership rights to your code, data, agent configurations, and the flows you author. Tai42 retains all intellectual property rights in and to the runtime software, the BabelDag software, algorithms, documentation, and all other aspects of the Services, subject to the open-source license that governs the runtime. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of either party's pre-existing intellectual property.
5. Data handling
This website's analytics are aggregate and set no cookies, and the site has no forms: what you write to contact@tai42.ai or builders@tai42.ai arrives in a group mailbox and is used only to reply to you and to schedule a conversation. The open-source runtime runs on your own infrastructure when you self-host it — your prompts, payloads, and data then never reach tai42's servers. The hosted BabelDag platform runs in a private, dedicated, EU-hosted tenant your team operates, under the separate agreement covering that tenant. For details, see our privacy policy.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, tai42 and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of or inability to use the Services. The Services are provided "as-is" and "as-available" without warranties of any kind, except as expressly stated in a separate written agreement.
7. Changes to terms
Tai42 reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on our website and updating the effective date above. Your continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
8. Trademarks
Tai42, the tai42 logo, and BabelDag are marks of tai42. The Apache-2.0 license covering the runtime grants no rights to these marks; you may not use them except to accurately describe the origin of the software.
9. Provider
Tai42 is currently operated by its founders. A corporate entity will be designated upon incorporation, and these terms will be updated to name it. Questions: contact@tai42.ai.
